As an aside, those Stunt .22's aren't even legal in some States.
Do you think that those esteemed Legislators, don't have wayyyyy more first hand experience in such matters, than you?!? That is the sanctity and backbone of this very Nation,in that our elected officials are the cream of the crop and well rounded,so as to nip such folly in the buds.
All true, what you say. There is iron in your words.
You will find comfort in knowing I keep round nose bullets in my 'brush' gun. They work great for shooting brush. I shoot deer with other stuff, but brush gets the round noses....
Nice to find a kindred spirit. I'm glad we had this little conversation.
"...the left considers you vermin, and they'll kill you given the chance..." Bristoe
I keep Brushy-Brush Loads on hand on a Hunt,so as to fend obstacles between me and my prey. A RN loaded backwards will buck brush better, because of the increased meplat and longer dwell time.
Nice to finally chat with someone who understands the mechanics of flight.
Since this thread was derailed long ago, Boxer what's yer take on the .22 K Hornet? I've got a Hornet that sucks donkey balls in the accuracy department, but sucks Jessica Simpson's tits in the fun department.
I'm thinking of having it punched out (like my clown). Other than brass life and trimming is there an advantage vs. disadvantage?
The finite control of headspace,is THE key. 'Course increased powder capacity, certainly do veddy nice thangs.
OEM spouts as a rule, wear sloppy excessive headspace and brass runs the gamut in rim thickness,so the SAAMI route is a great way to piss up ropes by default.
The K is a whole 'nother animal and a vastly superior mechanical design.
I am glad guys are getting out and about. I was all primed up for our early Muzzle Loader season but low and behold My daughter has been having some serious complications with her pregnancy. As some my know our early ML season here in PA is one week Sat to Sat and is for Doe only. Inlines are permitted but I use one of the two flintlock rifles I built myself. Spent the last two weeks getting things all tuned in with my .62 rifle and was all ready till we got the call Jess needed her Dad to be with her at the hospital with her. So between work and Jess I got very little time in the woods.
As I know Boxer likes pics and particulars I will do my best. Barrel is a .62 cal 1 in 77 Twist IIRC made by Ed Rayal. All polished steel furniture except the nose cap is nickle silver. Lock is a left handed Large Siler assembled by Vernon Davis.
I shoot a .595 round ball patched with .018 pillow ticking lubed with rendered bear oil over 95 grains of Goex 2f black powder.
Picture should have proper Blurritude as I am to cheap to buy a real camera.

Or just get your self a used Cooper in 22 hornet.......
