If you want to be able to shoot all the 140s, 8.5 minimum. 8 won't hurt a thing.

8.5" works great. 8" won't make it worse.

9 in my Sako worked. 8 is preferred. That said
Not much a 260 won't handle using 120-130 but
It's nice to have options.

Agree that 8 won't hurt

My Rugers have a one in 8, and my Rem VLS has a one in 9... both will stabilize 140s, but in the custom barrels I have had done, I always go with a one in 8.

I've had .264s in 1:9", 1:8.5" and 1:8". the 9 twist gave a few issues with very long bullets (142 SMK), the 8.5 worked fine, but 8 is my default twist rate for .264s. currently run two Liljas and a Brux in that configuration

Yup, with the trend toward longer bullets and the threat of lead bans looming, not going with an 8" twist would be foolish.
