Does anyone have any experience with this app? I down loaded it not too long ago and have been playing around with it. Seems like a pretty neat app, BUT... Here is the thing.

When I compare it to the Hornady ballistics calculator, they are waaayyyyy different.

For example, at 500 yards, with identical load data, elevation, weather etc Strelok says 3.11 MOA, and Hornady says 5.5 MOA. I tend to believe that Hornady is more accurate.

Another BIG example... Hornady states that at 1000 yards, my bullet (.257 wby, 110 Accubond, 3426 FPS) carries 633 ft/# of energy... Strelok says a whopping 2525 ft/#.

Kind of a bummer that this app seems like a flop to me, it is convenient.

Compare to a third program, such as JBM, and you'll probably get an idea as to which is off. I can say that there is zero chance a 110 Accubond is retaining 2525 ft/lb at 1000yds.

The good thing is the JBM and Hornady are spot on... Guess Ill be deleting this app as it is no where near the other two.

Are your sure one of the numbers you entered for data wasn't wrong? Not pointing fingers just asking. I had strelok when I had an android phone and was pretty accurate or at least really close.
I have an iPhone now and haven't picked an app for it yet.

Ive checked my numbers several times... Something must be wrong, but I dont know what. I took all the numbers from strelok and put them in the Hornady and JBM. Hornady and JBM were pretty much identical.

I have compared Ballistic AE and Strelock for several loads. They are close enough to make me think they are both using a version of the same algorithms.

I suspect that you have a setting wrong and are inadvertently using the wrong units or something.

Check your apps against www.handloads.com and see how they compare.

I have been using this app for some time with excellent results. It is not the most intuitive. Several times I have discovered that I had a setting from another page incorrect and it caused my solution to be incorrect.

I have used this with Zeiss Z-600, Burris Ballistic Plex and Leupold Boone and Crockett and all have been right on. I have also used it to determine drops with different magnifications. Be patient and you will get it to work.

I've been using it for a couple of years (Strelok + version). One to two clicks off at the most for 600, 800, and 1000yds. Great app. I'm pretty sure that they use JBM algorithms.

Ballistic AE is also right on. Use it if you have an iSomething.

I've used Strelok for a few years and found it to be very close as well. As a matter of fact, my chrono is apparently not very accurate, so what I do is shoot the rifle at 500 yds until I get the come up dead on. I then manipulate the velocity in Strelok until I get the correct 500 yd come up. At that point, all of the other come ups are on the money.

After entering any new data in Strelok +, do you hit the calculate button? I also like Strelok a lot.
