Getting a little tired of Politics , I would be interested in your Story : Here's mine : Many years ago I came across a Remington Double 16 Gauge ... I think it was a Model 1900 . It had been refinished as good as anything I've ever seen . An 85 year old Georgia Quail Hunter made me an offer I could not refuse . The worst memory is ( being a wood nut ) that the Rem. had as nice a Burl Stock as any of the top six I have ever seen in my lifetime , and I have seen a few Parker A1's , Merkels , Purdeys , H & H 's , etc. or maybe it's just my memory making it better every time I think about it .

I hate these kinds of threads. Too depressing. Too many I wish I still had.

Colt Lightweight Commander .45ACP that had been worked over by Pachmayr, back when they did custom work on 1911's.

No regrets. Them's got sold got sold for a reason. Most were good shooters, but I look at it from the perspective that I had no passion for them and maybe they are in more appreciative hands.
.257 .30 Carbine .22 H-Hornet .358 Win. .375 H&H .22 RF (3) .44 Mag .357 Mag
Names a few. Not the cartridges, but the platform that I did not care for.
I am..........disturbed.

I think about guns I sold about as much as I think about socks I've thrown out.

SKB SxS 12ga. That's it. All of the others I sold for a good reason, namely to scratch an irresistible itch for another gun and those other guns were exactly what I wanted. Just like I'm doing now to fund the purchase of a Sharps. Ed

Got one I should have BOUGHT that I still remember. Was in college around 1970-72 or so and a guy I had classes with needed some money. Had a Winchester 42 .410 he'd had since he was a kid, or a younger kid anyway. Wanted $40. Now at the time $40 was worth more than it is now but that was still a deal. Passed on it, thought it over, and when I saw him again it was gone.

Sold a total of 2 guns in my life. a 270 traded to me for a bobcat mount I did. I didn't and dont care for a 270, best use was to sell and run with the cash to pay bills.
The other was a early Ruger Redhawk. Sold it to finance a SW 329PD. It was WELL worth the trade. The ruger shot well, bulky and heavy. And about that time Bill had recently pissed me off so I was happy to dump a Ruger.
So bottom line, as I tell folks that ask me, want to sell that? Nope, I don't sell, I only buy.
Will be some folks getting some nice gifts as I age though!

Usull: I seldom sell a gun anymore! I thank God for the ability to keep all the guns that I want, nowadays. But that certainly was not always the case during my life. I litrally wish I had back 10 dozen different Rifles and pistols that I have sold in the past! But the one I wish the most I had never let go was a BEAUTIFULLY stocked (all factory stock!) pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Supergrade in 458 Winchester (also known as the "African")! I owned this Rifle long before "we" (Model 70 collectors) had any idea how rare these Rifles were/are! In fact we now know out of all 581,471 pre-64 Winchester Model 70's produced only 1,226 were in caliber 458 Winchester. Anyway I recall, to this day, the "measley" $200.00 profit I made by selling that pristine piece - if I had that Rifle back today I could easily multiply that profit by 20 (twenty) times (or over $4,000.00 profit on it today). Even more important to me, my Model 70 collection is now without an "African"! Yeah I wish I had never sold that one. I hope somehow someday that nifty Remington double comes back your way. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
