At 5 tonight I start making venison stew with bacon, venison chili, and cream of wild rice and chicken soup, all with hard bread and beer for those of appropriate ages smile

I am sure the deer stand, vehicles, and house will be quite fragrante delecto by the end of the weekend....

Good luck Coop! I'm gonna go sit from 11 - 2 and try and catch up with a mid day cruiser bruiser.

1!

1 day to go! Everyone have a safe and enjoyable hunt. Remember, getting into and out of stands is the most dangerous part of deer hunting. here's hoping that we come back a success group of hunters.

Ryan,n I've been using a product called "Nose Jammer" the past 2 years. Seems to work quite well. I've had deer directly down wind from me and they didn't seem bothered at all.

Good luck everyone.

Good luck to the lady Paul.

The gear is officially ready to go. It's not in the car but it's in a pile by the door.

Going to hit a movie and some BBQ with the lady friend then hit the sack so I can get up and head north early!

Be safe chickenbuckers. We all have families to come home to. Can't wait to get back to read the stories and see the fuzzy wind-chime pictures.

Great timing-my Division Head is in town touring stores. So far the visits have went pretty well with not too many notes. 'Wonder how he's gonna like it when he hits my store and I'm out from work with the dreaded Buck Fever?

I just got back from the grocery run. How can we feed a family of four for a week on less than $75.00 but it takes me $125.00 worth of chow to get through the first weekend of deer season?

Good luck to all!

My elk and deer season have already come and gone. You'd think I wouldn't care that others are just starting their hunting season and get to look forward to the upcoming hunt. But admittedy, I'm still a little jealous. smile

We've got a week to go over here in MI and the old .308 model 100 Winchester is NOT cooperating. The target looks like I shot with my eyes closed. It has always liked the blue box 180gr Federals. I've tried just about everything I know to get it to tighten up. Anybody with a model 88 or 100 and have any suggestions?

I like the old girl, but if she doesn't settle down, she's gonna have to stay home.
