I always felt a little guilty when the former owner was watching me eat those he formerly owned.

Roll the little ones on the branding burner - then salt lightly!
Larger ones are great - breaded, and deep fried.

have eaten them, and I can and will, not my favorite cut of meat though.

I know it comes from using all of the animal back when folks knew what it was to be truly hungry.

but it gives me pause to wonder....when did they stop eatin the cock?

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Years ago a place in town used to serve them as horse's doovers. A couple of somewhat aged tourist ladies seemed to enjoy them with their cocktails. One of them asked the waitress what the things with "the wonderful nut like flavor" were.

Never had 'em but did eat turkey nuts whilst in college in the early 80's. Made great burgers and breakfasts too.

Yes, big ones sliced and fried in seasoned cornmeal. After all oysters are sea food. grin miles

Used for other things. A dried bull prick for a walking stick and coon dick for a tooth pick. I used to have one that I carried in my hat band for stirring mixed drinks. Good conversation piece. grin miles
