Thanks Steve, good thing is that while talking to students the other day Malema mentioned the whites had to give back what they stole from the blacks (land) before reconciliation can take place. The whole audience burst out laughing.
I'm not too worried about him because he is too radical for his own good and makes Chris Hani look like a grade 1 teacher - the only real good thing is that he may take some votes away from the ruling party. He will not make it big time in the SA political arena.
With regards to the handouts I wish I kept the article in which research among 800 Soweto-based black residents showed that something like 37% of the respondents indicated they would keep voting for the ruling party because if any other party came to power social grants would be stopped. Our house maids' 21 yo daughter has 3 children from 3 different fathers and stays happily at home with the grants she gets and is considering a 4th because then she gets more money. Losing the grants may actually imply she needs to start working.
