JCH, did you anneal any of those cases? I'm curious because I have some original brass from my father and also some range pick ups that a friend gave me. I'm concerned about the "temper" of the necks and wondered if you have noticed any difficulties yet.
Thanks for the tip on the 9mm taper crimp die to aid the use of .357 dies.

I have three boxes of the OWS loads, have used and reloaded two, and yes, I did have split necks on five or six. I will anneal the next batch before reloading. These are made from 357 max brass and might have been worked too hard. I have no experience with original brass.
I recently picked up a Lyman 178 grain 357 mold, will be trying some hard cast bullets from that. Do you think I need be concerned about leading without using a gas check?

not at the velocities of the 351. keep them at or below 1800fps and should not lead. I just shot a few rounds of factory stuff from the 40's that I bought from a member and they are slower than my reloads. had one failure to eject whereas with my reloads it cycles great. I size 200g gc's to 354 and they shoot to 1.5 inches in the black at 50 yards. let my 65 year old sister shoot it and she got 3 bulls eyes! wants to trade me a rem 700 adl 30-06 for it. lol not a chance as I gave her the 06. next to my 1890 wrf this is the most fun gun I've had in years. think i'm going to look for a 1910 to match
thanks again jch for the 9mm taper tip.
