I now spend 2 1/2 hours a day in the truck driving back and forth to work. I've never used one but a bluetooth headset would be very handy for that purpose, as I tend to get a lot of calls in the afternoon during my commute time.
For those with experience, do I want an over the head, or an over the ear type? Every over the head unit I've researched had reviews that claimed the head band was too small. And I wear a size 8 hat...
I know that I want one with noise canceling, but are there other features to look for?

I spent sixty plus hours a week driving truck for six years. Over or in the ear is best.

Plantronics Voyager 510 for me. It is an over-the-ear type that has different size ear gels to best fit you ear. It also has the best audio quality and battery life of any BT earpiece I've tried. There are some headband types that have quite a bit of adjustment, and the foam ear covers are more comfortable over the long run.

Okay... I had imagined that over head might be more comfortable than over ear, but I am open to advice.
Also appreciate specific recommends like the plantronics unit...

Plantronics Voyager are definately the best I or anyone I know have used. I have the Pro+. Call quality is second to none. The sound is crisp, clear and there is no static.
I believe the over the ear is more comfortable than the head band type. Plus it fits int your pocket alot easier.

Yep. I would still be using one if my hearing aids did not bluetooth.

Check out a Blue Parrot, they cut down on a lot of noise. I had one briefly until it was stolen.

I've used them daily for several years. All the "over the ear" models left me with aching ears by the end of the day. The last 3 have been Plantronics "in the ear" models, they are essentially weightless, fit snugly in my ear and never fall out. I've had the 925 Discovery, 975 Discovery and now M1100 Savor. I like that they answer with a voice command or tap on the earpiece.
