Way to go, Berettaman! I'm sitting in my usual spot on morning 3 and am being serenaded by - frogs! We had rain overnight and it's so warm that the bug-eyed little chits have taken up singing again. We're supposed to get thunderstorms and wind later today with a and overnight changing to snow tomorrow.

Nice job BM and Wyatt! It's way more fun with the kids! Jack took a nap from 145-245. That little turkey was in a deer stand for almost 10 hours yesterday. He said the whole day was fun.
We are going to get the wheeler this morning and he's going to shoot his .22.
I really screwed up my knee last night gutting the deer. Bad enough that I had to tag it, drag it to a rock pile a few yards from where it fell and have my dad come help me go get it last night. After several rounds of ice and meds it feels the same or worse.
Camp is where you make it.

We picked up a doe this afternoon! Well, I shot it, then we picked it up. We got it in a clear cut about half way home. The deer never even twitched. Boom! and down, not a wiggle. Shot it with the Redneck built custom .280 rem, 140gr Fed Fusions. Fuzzy windchime be thumpin! Congrats Tom! Wish I'd been there to share in the festivities.

Linda and I arrived home last night about 7PM after a steady 8 hour drive from Port Canaveral. I don't care where you go or how much fun you had it is ALWAYS good to get home. The two white boy dogs were happy as hell to see us.Much tail wagging, happy bark-whines and face licking. We went to Cozumel,Belize,Mahogany bay on Isla Rotan and Costa Maya.Food was great. The weather cooperated except on the last day and that was at sea all day.We enjoyed the slot machines greatly.People we met were great. We were serenaded at dinner on our 25th wedding anniversary by the table waiters. I just spent two hours catching up on this thread. Happy birthday,Charlie. Very hearty congratulations to those of you who got a deer. I was about fifty miles from home when I realized I had forgotten my hat.We had no cell phone service all week anyhow unless you wished to tie into the ship's system at $1.99/minute. My phone was off all week. I missed this thread and my friends thereon.

Congrats eveyone on the fuzzy windchime success. My BIL shot a 7 point out of my double ladder stand yesterday about 3:15. I'm happy for him and I have that buck on cam so its pretty neat! I got skunked again. Saw a couple of does right at dark but no bucks. I think I'm going to take it easy today. The leg is pretty swollen again.
Sorry about your knee Tom. That sucks!
Stan - Welcome home! It sounds like you had a fantastic trip! Share some photos! Happy 25th Annivessary as well!!

Kendra took her first buck this morning at 7:04 am. 125 yards straight on. using a lefty mini mauser in 6x45 shooting a 70 grain NBT over 27 grains of H335. got about 2' of penetration. liquid lung and hole in the heart. buck ran about 10 yards before piling up. here's her pic in the field, it was really windy so you can't see the CB beanie under her balaclava. I have this buck on trail cam before he broke off 2 tines fighting. and the family pic

Way to go Kendra. Congrats on your first buck. Your daughter is really growing Ryan. Tom, I was going to suggest you go see a vet, but they'd just want to put you down. Welcome home Stan. Sounds like you and Linda had a great time.

Congrats Tom! Wish I'd been there to share in the festivities. Ya me too. We had to leave it so I could get my dad to help me load it. I dicked up my knee pretty good and have been fairly useless. Driving home about killed me.
