Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8 . Can switch it to different rifles and zero is maintained in the bases. You did say one scope not one rifle.

Leupold 2 1/2 compact --- and it is also the one most likely to last forever too !

Leupold VX6 2-12. I've been a Leupold guy my whole life but this one blows any other one I've ever used out of the water.

Weaver Grand Slam 3-10x40 not the best scope I've had, but really good, tough as nails and probably the most versatile.
