Does anybody have experience using one for splitting elk or moose? Which blades work best on bone? For cutting up a carcass near a vehicle or at home, they ought to work great.
I am also curious about the smaller Hackz All, which could be packed in to a kill, but I am not sure if a guy can get a blade long enough to cut thru vertebrae - the blades look short...any experience with these on big critters?

I use a chainsaw. Dump out the bar oil and refill with Wesson vegetable oil.

unfortunately, a Sawz-All will not work very well (voice of experience there). problem is too fine a blade at too high a STM (strokes per minute)--- electric meat saw blades only have 4-5 teeth per inch. if you're not gonna do it manually, you'll either need a chainsaw or one of these: e-saw

Yeah, I use a Makita cordless with a pruning blade. Always carry an extra battery and an extra blade, just in case.
Works perfectly

I like my little 12v hackzall it gets the job done quickly on pvc pipe repairs. I'm not thrilled with the performance with th pruning blade on branches but will likely drag it along to cut the skull cap if antlers are all I'm taking from the head. Too heavy for me to haul up the hill normally so I bring a small light Buck folding saw in my pack that works fine and weighs next to nothing. Honestly I think id be better offwith a boning knife instead of the saw in the pack bu the darn little saw can do more like broaches and lower legs than the extra knife.

I've used an 18v to remove antlers and to do some minor bone cutting. I used it to split 5 big turkeys we raised to freeze them as halves. A coarse wood blade zips right through bone and won't gum up too bad with muscle, etc. A fine toothed blade is best left home. The long blades work better for me than the short ones but I've never tried to split a spine.

I've used them on deer and a butcher down the streets uses them on elk, moose and deer.
The coarser the blade, the better. Also be sure to slice the hide out of the way with a knife before going in with the sawzall.

I carry in my pack a knife size folding device that uses Sawzall blades. Light weight and will take an Elk apart in a hurry.

Pretty close to the same thing. Mine is just plain aluminum finish, but it's an old one.
