Wednesday would be a good day to bag one with the weather that's on it's way.
I'll be out starting Friday and good luck to all as well.

Saw a nice big buck on Sunday afternoon in Kansas on the Colorado border. Seemed to be cruising for does at 2:20 in the afternoon. Good luck to all and hunt safe.

Area 15 already has ice. I know of which I speak!!Ugh. G I am hoping this front will get them moving this evening. The morning was slow. Only one buck seen and he didn't stop long enough to present a decent shot. I am in the Se portion of area 11 on my own land. The wind has moved from south to west and we are about 35 deg right now. Gonna be chilly this weekend. The forcast is calling for some single digit mornings the next few days and ice starting tomorrow. I hate ice.

Hunted this evening where I have taken a deer on opening day the past two years and didn't see anything. They seemed to be locked up tight in the heavy stuff and staying put.

Saw 3 doe and they were real nervous. Not sure if it was the wind or someone on the nearby adjoining property spooked them. Fighting bronchitis so the cold weather the next few days may curb my enthusiasm a bit.

Crappy opening morning, jumped some does, I let them stand in the field vs. dropping any of them.
Cold rainy crap.

I am very proud of him. He told me he didn't want to shoot a doe and wanted to wait for a buck. We had 4 does in front of us for 5 minutes and he just watched them

Congrats on the buck !!
Day two is 20 degrees this morning with the 'real feel' at 1. I'm gonna go see if I can kick some thing up.

We had a much slower season than usual in North Central Kansas. It was SO cold!! I thought it might help deer movement but I think it had the opposite effect. We simply weren't seeing deer up on their feet from stands that ALWAYS produce! Saturday morning was just plain FRIGID! It was -4 without any wind chill! We ended up shooting 3 mature bucks between 5 hunters. Dad couldn't hunt much because of the cold, but he's out this weekend. My buck: Buddy's Buck: My other buddy's daughters buck:
