Good choice.

Was this the Bellermine/Mitty style all-you-can-eat crab feed?

Had it at a church dinner. It was delicious.

My mom knows where to buy it and how to serve it up.

Swedish meatballs and lutefisk every Christmas Eve since I can remember.

Sooo True! Many of the Norske founded Lutheran Churches here behind the Cheddar Curtain still put on great dinners of Lutefisk and Lefse.

Lutefisk is for light weights, man up & try Surstrmming.
For those you are not familiar, you will need plenty of vodka and eat out doors
German food critic and author Wolfgang Fassbender wrote that "the biggest challenge when eating surstrmming is to vomit only after the first bite, as opposed to before.

No, private. In exchange, I had to help trim the host's Christmas tree.

When I was in Norway, i would not eat:

Sursilk (marinated & pickled, aged/rotted herring) and
Fiskegot (fish pudding, it comes in big blocks, and you cut off slices to put on crackers or bread)

I liked the fish roe on crackers for breakfast though.

Every year somebody comes on here with a comment about Lutefisk (lippiakala).

One of my earliest memories was sitting at the table on the ole family farm in Hanley Falls and my grandma-Della Mae--shoving a forkful of that stuff down my throat.

More than 50 years ago and I can still remember the smell.

I can tell you one sure thing--I might be old and feeble--but it is going to take one hell of an axe maiden to make swallow another one.

Please check out the "poem" that I put into the "Lutefisk, Again" thread down in the cooking section.
