He seems so far off kilter that he might actually be a lot of fun in person

We have so many really great one it really is hard to choose but, if forced to choose one for everything in Alaska, it is hard to beat the 270 gr TSX.

For what it's worth, the 270 TSX is my favorite as well..

Toad- I have a 235 tsx that looks just like the 270 gr picture. Recovered from under the hide in the flank of an oryx in Namibia. After it broke the on side shoulder and put a thumb size hole through the top of the heart. 75 gr of R15 gives me exactly 3k out of my 23" barreled ruger African here at home, 5k feet elevation. Accuracy is excellent, recoil is not bad. I like the combo so much I decided not to even mess with other bullets in this rifle. In fact I like the 375 ruger so much I'm gathering parts to build a 416 ruger in case I feel the need for heavier bullets

375 Ruger dead? Yeah? Behold the marketing genius named bcd. Perhaps you should submit to Ruger and to Hornady your formal declaration that the 375 Ruger is dead. And lets not forget Howa that also chambers the 375 Ruger in the M/1500? Oh and aaaah, doesn`t Savage chamber the 375 Ruger in one of their models too?

The 300 Win Mag is also on it's deathbed as well due to the overwhelming popularity of the 300 H&H.

375 Ruger dead??? Ha! It's doing so well that smaller versions are popping up! Love my 338-375 Ruger so much that im thinking about building another one with a sporter weight barrel. My 7 LRM should be done sometime early next year. This thread makes me want a 375 Ruger that much more since i have brass and dies. Also makes me want to go hunt bear with Phil!!!

Dang Phil, I knew that you knew your stuff! grin For me the 300 WM is already dead since I'm having a 300H&H built.

There seems to be a little concern though with the 375 Ruger case its self: Why doesn't Ruger offer a .375/.338, .375/.300 Ruger, .375/.284 Ruger, etc. Others are doing it like the 7LRM. At least H&H was smart enough to take the 275H&H to 375H&H & 300H&H, etc. Then all the other manufactures jumped and made a bunch of other belted magnum rounds using the H&H cases. But I see nobody doing the same with the big Ruger case other than wildcatters??? Is there a problem with the case? confused

Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money but we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money. What's interesting is the first group WORKED for their money but the other group didn't.

Think Ruger didn't build the 338-375 or 30-375 because the mag box on the M77s is 3.4". Don't think it can be modify to get any more room out of them? Currently using a 3.6" in my M70 for the 338-375. Just does give me enough room to keep 250 SMKs from going past the shoulder/neck area. Maybe they thought the slight gain in FPS was not enough to justify building them? I get 3040 FPS with 225 ABs and up to 2920 FPS with 250 SMKs. Really starting to dig this round. Two deer so far didn't like them

Here's another 375 TSX 270; this one at 2700 mv and caught by a large zebra at about a 100 yds. Tough to beat the performance I witnessed though for elk and the 375, the 250-gr TTSX may be interesting.

Nice neck on that 7 LRM, Its got a lot of nice features. (no belt, lots of COAL latitude, sharp shoulders, limited taper.) I am sure it would be a hit if there weren't a half dozen sevens competing in the in roughly the same space.
