Looking to get new Winchester Hunters Edge for my M70 from Rick. Need to light up the gun. Getting older sucks. Current wood stock has 2 piece bottom metal. Would like to use Williams Firearms ADL type trigger guard on the Edge to further lighten the rifle. Do I need to change anything else on the gun to accomplish this, such as magazine box?

Thanks,

Curly

I don't think you need a new box. I would be interested in buying the bottom metal if you decide to sell it when you convert to ADL.

I am undertaking a similar project with a NH G series six digit SS .308 FWT. Ordered a MCM Hunters Edge ADL inlet for Remington ADL trigger guard. I was planning to modify as I go so your question is of interest to me. I would like to find a source for a new quality magazine spring and follower in addition to your question.

Magazine will have to be shortened (metal removed at bottom). Follower and spring stay the same. I believe the McMillan will hold 3-down blind-magazine style.

Bansner's sells an aluminum Blind Trigger Bow for the M70 I believe. You could also peruse ebay, I've bought an old 670 blind bow there in the past.

Thank you all for the replies. Makes sense about the magazine box. I would think the follower and spring would just compress a litt omen with the blind magazine.

Would it be just as easy to buy a M70 magazine box and keep the original with the wood stock. And 2 piece floor plate if I ever warned to go back.

Also would it matter that my M70 is a lefty?

Thanks,

Curly
