Figured you guys would have the scoop on what I've got here. Marlin 1893, 30 WCF (under the rear sight), #155,xxx, Marlin Safety on receiver, says nothing on the barrel other than the cartridge and a stam or two, plus "29". Bore is absolutely gorgeous, looks fresh cut. Can anyone tell me the year, desirability, value, that sort of thing? Trying to figure out what to do with it. Thanks in advance!

Roy, Paint it !!!! all kidding aside the barrel and magazine tube look to have been shortened, non factory front sight, its one of the early 1893,1894 year rifles without the extra screw to keep the trigger plate from flexing. Marlin started to put the extra screw in around s/n 170,000. Its not really a collectable just a shooter. Don

Looking at yours, they've sure got a variety of magazine lengths, some of them pretty close together. Are those factory variations or have some of yours been altered as well? Did 19" sound right for a barrel length?

Roy,your barrel has been cut, thats why the aftermarket front sight. I do have a bunch of different magazine lengths mostly because of takedown models. the configuration of your rifle is like some marlin offered in the 1930,s. Don
