I'm just glad somebody finally said it out loud!

When I saw one sell for $1500, I thought I was seeing things. Kinda makes a shooter Montana seem like a steal!

It wasn't that long ago these were on the cover of Jerry's being blown out for $850 and NO one was buying. Damn....

And look at Coopers. Price went up 30% and value went down 30% but still a good deal considering what you end up with. Tough to get a TI rifle... Slim pickin's...

Whatever is hard to get and expensive, is what people want. It's just human nature and makes no logical sense. Everyone wants what they can't have, even if they had no desire for it when it was easy to get.

If you've got the money and are not endangering anyone with your decisions, I say GO FOR IT!

It all helps the economy.

ti's may not be a very good value but if you have one, you probably didn't need much justification, just desire. two grand sure doesn't go as far as it used to.

+1, well said.

Hey, if guys have $ to play with, go for it, they are nice guns, and lighter is mo better IMHO; but for practicality its tough to beat a Montana, Forbes or faux.

I can't think of another rifle that's appreciated as well as a Ti over the last couple of years. I wonder what the high water mark will eventually be on them.

How about an SKS that you could buy by the pallet a few years ago for $79 each and now go for $350?

true. i guess what i meant was i don't know if they're a good bang for the buck compared to what you get for other high dollar rifles... but it doesn't matter. i wanted one so i got one. when i didn't want it anymore i sold it. it's just a rifle. i owned it. it didn't own me.

I watched a like-new 1st gen Ti 308 sit at the gun show for several months about 1.5 years ago. I think I picked it up each time, but thought the $1299 with a 2.5-8 VXIII was too much! smile

That's true. I hadn't thought about the run on "assault weapons" over the last couple of years.

I agree with you. For $2k, I think you can get a lot more rifle than what a Ti offers. I just don't think a guy is likely to get burned by picking up a Ti, even at today's prices.

I kinda feel sorry for the new guys . I paid 630 bucks for a 7mm-08 sold the stock and barrel for 250 bucks and built a Bansner on it . Would never do it again gimme a plain old stainless 700 and I'm good . Now matter how much I want it to be smooth its just not as smooth as ss on ss.

Had a .260 Montana too... sold it to my Uncle to match he wife's Montana 260.

That is the "cat's meow" but no better than the Ti.

Problem with all off the rack kimbers is they cut the stocks to short for a guy 6'-2" or more

but, for a 5'9 or so... great fit. perfect fit!

Loved the control feed. I never worry about controld feed until I'm up again dangerous game. Then, game on and I go for my Sako L61R .375 Weatherby (that's not a Typo) Yes, Weatherby.

All the High end rifles are nice! not like the 770 Remington... it jsut does nothing for me. that's my blurb.

Boy have I got a deal for you. Plain old 700 sitting in a Bansner stock with a Douglas barrel in the lovely 6.5 Swede in exchange for your Bansner Ti. Mine has a CM receiver and stainless barrel, but it's smooooooth! <grin>

I just lightened the load taking a 16oz sh*t in the creek. My Rem TI thoughts have passed.
