I have tried many combinations of bullets and different powders.
Always looking for accuracy. Pretty funny. I had some 180 gr.
Deep Curls and tried IMR 4350. It turned out it was shooting less than 1/2" groups on calm days. It just seems funny that after trying all the new wonder powders Old IMR 4350 works the best in my gun!! Buckfever1

I have yet to find a .30-06 that doesn't like 57 gr. IMR 4350 behind a 165 gr. bullet. If a .30-06 won't shoot that load combo well, it's going down the road, period.

Haven't done much testing of the old 06 for about 30 years.. But Selmer's load was my favorite when I used the 06 a lot.. That followed by 59 gr. I4350 and a 150 grain Horn. flat base.. Killed a lot of game with those two.. Still have 3 bx. of the later loaded for those times I used my old model 54....

Yep. 30-06 and 4350 just go together well. I don't think I have used any other powder for the 30-06 in almost 30 years.

Selmer, that's the load I've ran in several '06s. I've also tried the H version, but the IMR holds a slight accuracy advantage.

All 30/06's I've tried like 59.0gr of H4831sc and whatever 180gr bullet of your choice.

When God created rifles, he formed the .30-06 and IMR4350 and saw that it was good. Having achieved perfection, he moved on to other projects.

My go to load for several years for my 30-06 was 56g IMR 4350 and a 180g Nosler PT. Chronograghed at 2650 fps and very accurate. I have tried other powders that give good accuracy and velocity, but may have to go back to IMR 4350 since everything else is so scarce.

IMR4895 is another sweetheart in 30-06, 308, 243, 270, 7-08. Just add a Hornady Flat base and go bring some critters home...

Have yet to find a 30-06 that wasn't a dog with 57gr of 4350 and said bullet weight. As much as I'd LOVE for my 30-06 to dazzle me, it just doesn't.

Get a different .30-06. No one ever said the .30-06 would "dazzle", but it does have a habit of hanging around for a long time and being available pretty much everywhere ammunition is sold.

Well, I don't know about God, but that's what I did...It doesn't take a brain surgeon to thumb thru a few different load manuals and know IMR4350 is the 30-06's huckelberry whistle

IMR4350 is the powder for my two '06 loads...a 150 and a 200. Haven't chrono'd the 150 but my 200 gr. load goes 2600. A 200 gr. spitzer @ 2600 carries the mail a good long ways.

Been using 59.0gr. IMR4350 behind the old Hornady 190gr Boatail Hollow point National match for a long time. You talk about Ballistic coefficients!

IMR4350 and 30-06 are a marriage made in heaven. I have loaded 150 grainers with 60 grains, 180 grainers with 55 grains, and 165 grainers with 57 to 58.5 grains. gave up on the 58.5 load and dropped back to the 57 grain load as it did everything I needed it to do.

If 57 grains of IMR4350 and a 165 grain Hornady Interlock won't kill a moose, you need to practice shooting a little more. wink
