Yesterday we had all the kids and grand kids here at our house for our annual Christmas get together. It got so warm in the house that I had to turn the air conditioning on. I feel kinda guilty saying that when you are all experiencing such low temps.

Stan in SC No worries Stan. We're a hearty lot. And as long as you have a warm house and work place and a good battery in your vehicle, most of us are not exposed to the elements for long. I do feel for the guys that are outside working in this weather though. That chill's to the bone in no time. I did it for a year in an unheated lumber warehouse. I enjoyed the work but wow did it get cold in there.

Currently erecting a steel building with a steel stairs and steel elevator hardware...it gets cold. Foam insulation tomorrow. That should help.

Well, I've got about 6 lbs. of beef roast going in the slow cooker. A big roaster of cheesy potatoes baking in the oven. The spirit of the season is upon us. We will travel to my father in law and The Wicked Step Mother's casa this afternoon. I've been strictly forbidden by my wife from baiting the old witch into any discussions on the merits of hunting. It's so fun though, and she's such an easy mark....... I still don't think she ever got over our discussion about bunny hunting.
There are just some things one looks forward to this time of year, but out of respect for my wife, I guess I'll play nice this Christmas. 'Guess I'll leave my I Support PETA-People Eating Tasty Animals shirt on the hanger. Sigh..........

If it does come up ask her where she stands on abortion . I've found that most bunny huggers are all for it .
I have two pig butts and a loin in the smoker and just finished up wrapping gifts .
Merry Christmas and happy travels !

I have an almost 10# pork loin that is going to be cooked in various ways for new years. My step-dad is firing up the deep fryer and we're going to have turkey tonight. He's a heckova wizzard with the birds on the grill or the fryer. Merry Christmas all. Safe travels if you have them. May Santa treat you well. My boy is gone tonight but asked that I leave pizza and Redd's Apple Ale for Santa and some carrots for the deer. Ain't no doubt who's boy he is...

I'm no saying it Stan.
Ashland, WI has had 36" inches of snow since Sunday and it's still snowing. White Bear, are you paying attention?
3" overnight here. BTW it was minus 21* here early yesterday morning. It was up to minus 9* when I got up at 6:00 AM.

Bushy,
Didn't you buy a carsella(sp?) fish house a couple of years ago?
If so, how do you like it?

A great Christmas was had in the Berettahouse. Leupy binocs for the kids along with snowshoes and a ton of other kid stuff. I scored some motorola walking talkies and some spinning wing decoys, oh, and a backcountry tent for spiking out for elk. A great Christmas. We did the traditional ham. My diet starts Jan 1. I need it.
