Every single one of my long range hunting rigs have a bipod on them. They have never cost me an animal. Just the opposite, for long range I can get settled on target and send one long before I would be able to siting or kneeling. So are you guys who are opposed to pods telling me you can get settled faster sitting and get a precision shot off faster at 6,7, or 800 yards? if so I have to call BS. You need to practice with the equipment that will get the job done. Hell this is long range hunting.

Hello Buzzsaw, I haven't read all the wonderful advice these guys have given you. I read your question and read 2 pages of guys telling you how to practice and be able to shoot at 100, 200, 300, etc. without a shooting aid. I didn't read anymore, so if someone mentioned this already I apologize. We keep a 1 inch nylon strap hung from the ceiling inside the windows of our shooting houses. The grip of the stock goes in there and the rifle forearm rests on the towel covered window sill. This helps quit a lot shooting across a 450 yard wide bean field. When your hanging your strap, have your rifle and set it up like your going to shoot way out. Not close as you don't need it there. Kevin
