I'm looking to set up a 223 T3, trying to stay around $300 $350 tops.

I'd love to find a Conquest 3-9x40, outside of that in my price range I am thinking a new VX2 3-9x40 is my best bet. Is there a better option I am over looking? I do want to stay in the 3-9 power range.

If you can find any 75gr AMAX's and push 'em pretty fast, the drops with a B&C/LRD in a Leupy, zeroed for 200yd, are pretty close to 300,400, and 450. It'll work out a bit short for 77's

If you aren't dead set on getting a scope on it right now, I'd say your Conquest idea is the way to go. They are the gold standard in a reasonably priced 3-9 IMO. There's usually one to pop up in the classifieds fairly often. I would think you should be able to get one within a couple of weeks and it would be worth the wait.

The Leupold AR Mod 1 is in your price range and it offers great value for your needs. I am running a 3x9x40 duplex Mil/Mil on a 243AI and it is just about perfect.

The Duplex runs like $299.95

Gonna put the same glass on my 223AI.

Meopta makes a great scope. I have a new 3-9x42mm that I haven't mounted yet. Excellent optics comparable to the Zeiss Conquest 3-9X...except the Conquest is out of production now. Below is a 6X Meopta on a Ruger .30-06 that is really growing on me. Cabelas sells Meopta scopes under their own brand name; same scopes, same prices.

I love Meopta (or Zeiss) but thinking size and weight of a VX2 or the previously mentioned AR are a much better fit on a T3.

Had a Bushnell 10x Mil/Mil on mine-pretty decent for the cash.

It got swapped out for a Leupy 6x36 LRD which is gonna get a turret this winter.

Don't rule out a fixed 6~they're awesome.

Caught a sweet deal on a FFII with electrodot duplex in the classifieds, frees up money for reloading and is still good glass.

Congrats. I have been happy with my FFII. Good catch. Enjoy.

This is another good one. Weaver Classic 6X on a .223 Remington 700. Most of the time scope power in excess of 6 or 8X isn't needed.
