I'm going to buy me a new pair of lacrosse hunting boots this year but I'm torn between the alphaburly sport 3.5mm neoprene and the sport with 800 gram thinsulate. I have the 3.5 now and love them but my feet get cold sometimes. The 800g is suppose to be warmer. I'm just afraid they'll be too warm in bow season here in east texas. And the 3.5s are 4 lbs per pair where the 800g is 5.5. I just really like the idea of my feet never getting cold. Does anyone know how much warmer the 800 are? My 3.5 are still in decent shape so I guess I could just buy the warmer boots and used the ones I have now one more season during warm weather. I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with the two boots.

I have had the 800g for about 7 years. They were fine for temps from teens to 60s. Can't compare them with the 3.5mm but will throw out a recommendation for the new Lacrosse Aeroheads. I picked up a pair of the 7mm this summer and wore them this season. Like them much better than the sports. They make them in both 3.5 and 7mm.

Better fit for me and more comfortable soles. Feel less "clunky". I like the sports and think they are a good boot but the Aeroheads are an upgrade in my opinion.

Tried on a pair of the Aeroheads and they will be my next boot when the Mucks die. They don't feel to me as clunky.

If you're worried about them being too warm during bow season, I would investigate different socks.

Go for the 800
