Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.
When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.
PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Blammer, Do you mean the long rumored, Americanized version of these guys? They finally got around to that? If so, you're in for a treat. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Life begins at 40. Recoil begins at "Over 40" Coincidence? I don't think so.

FWIW I did hear from a sharpshooter on our state police force something about the sig rifles. Comments were that its heads and shoulders above the AR platform that he used in the Marines(also a team Marine competitive shooter). He said I"d be very happy if I ever get one. We'll see when it gets that far.

"its heads and shoulders above the AR platform "
In what way? Also, what do they cost?

They looked really cool at the SHOT Show. I think they retail for something like $1300.

I"ve been told that they are much more reliable, very accurate, very clean with not the crud you get in the AR lower, a more reliable platform all around. IE I'm not interested in it for a match gun, but for a defense gun it could be worth it, excepting I'd prefer something I can swap parts with if the SHTF really bad.

Could a Marine even use a Sig in competition? If so what kind of competition? I don't think they could use it in DCM or any service rifle matches.
While I am sure that the Sig is a great gun I find it hard to believe that it is more reliable or accurate than an AR as AR's are pretty darn reliable and very accurate for what they are.

Marines life is not just shooting. Its also serving. I was not inferring that it was used or could be in matches, though it could be as a match rifle.
What I was trying to say, and did a poor job of, is that this Marine was no normal grunt. He finished 3rd in P100 one year, is a state police sniper etc.... High Master and so on. IE he is qualified to have an educated opinion and as for a combat platform he prefers it to the AR platform for his own reasons.

Some interesting info from a Shot Shot attendee on the 5.56
Fall or late Fall 2006 Still working out some design items on the platform (Sig Engineers were at the show taking notes......) Not a large number to be available
Looks like a nice one.
