Its either a delima, or ignorance, but what ever it is--I need some info. I have a Weatherby Vanguard S-1- SS BackCountry in .270win, and "yes" it'll shoot an 1" at 100 reliably. But I have this "itch to install a true 2-stage trigger in it, similar to the ones in my AR15 and AR10. 1st stage around 3#, second stage at 1 1/2#. I have honed and polished the original down to 3#--just got an itch I gotta scratch. I have tried www.erniethegunsmiths.com , springs in both the target and varmint kits, just don't get that magic break that a 2-stage has. Your turn. G

Perhaps we have a communication difference here, but with my two stage units the initial travel (first stage) is lighther than the second stage that lights things off. My lightest is an Anschutz with about a 1/8 ounce pull for the initial travel and then one encounters a wall. That wall (the second stage) is about 3/4 ounce and one experiences no perceptable travel as it breaks. A great trigger and I wish I could put them on every long gun I own. A caution though - one should always approach it from the side and use his finger tip only. First timer need to fire about 10 rds before they begin to get a feel for things. A two stage video link With a heavier first stage pull, I don't think I'd have any control over a lighter second stage breaking point. Next time around, one might get some better feedback if this type of question went into the Gunsmithing section.

Are you looking for a 2-stage trigger or are you asking if anyone has tuned one?

Told ya right up front I needed some help on this. Both my AR's are Bushmaster. AR 15 is pre-Windom, AR 10 is W W. Both these triggers have a stronger take up, than the final stage. I have never put my trigger pull gauge on either one, but I can assure you the final stage is a mere whisper. The Weatherby is a Vanguard SS Back Country in .270win--I have it down to a very acceptable pull weight--just want that 2-stage thing. G
