So is anyone fishing? I need to get an icefishing fix since I don't have enough to get out. I got nearly enough to get on my pond but it is supposed to hit nearly 40 today and then rain before the frigid air gets here in the morning. Probably will about ruin it again.

It is in sweeeeeet shape. Gramps bought it new in the 20's or 30's.

One of the old timers (Older than me) still carries a Rem model 8, in 30 Remington. He also has a Winchester model 95 in 30-40.

Refresh my memory boys...are those the semi-auto's?

I keep thinking about the Rem M 141 pump in .35 Rem, I passed on a few weeks back. I'm sure it won't be around long. It was absolutely flawless. Too pretty to D&T for mounts/rings/swivels. I could put a peep on it. I don't have any gun I wouldn't hunt, so it would see the woods, but I guarantee it hasn't seen the woods.

Yep, the mod 8 and 81 were semi autos Tom. Came in .25, .30, .32 and 35 Remington. The 141 was a great rifle. My buddies dad used one in 35 Rem.

Pete has/had a Rem 141 that he wanted to sell me but you know Pete... smile I'm going to try to save some money for that rifle. I like it, a lot. I went in to the gun shop to see if they had any 7600's in 35W or a 30-06 carbine. They know me well and know I like "odd" guns. He bought the 141 for me. Along side the 141 he had an absolutely spotless NIB, 7600 30-06 carbine. Exactly what I went in for.

I've never had a carbine, and this one was too good to pass up at $425 and I had the extra money. I didn't have the $200 more I needed to get the 141 and it's worth it at that price too.

The 7600 doesn't have swivels put on it, or a bases on it either. If it had a round in the chamber, I couldn't tell. Came with two mags, neither had any scratches on them from even being put in the gun. They are marked on the bottom with a sharpie for some reason.

I used a Remington 141 in .30 Remington one year hunting. A friend's dad's rifle. They had no ammo, and let me use it after I reloaded some for them.

I would love one in 35 Rem.

Me too. Got up to take a wizz and the niners scored in that time. Crazy! Wish I would have seen the drive.

Thanks Bill! How far below the donut are you guys over there in sconnie? I think we are around -20 and dropping.

We're only 5* below, Jim. It was zero at 6:00 AM. Temp will be on the slide all day long. Low tonight will be anywhere from minus 27* to - 33*. Some reports say the front is stalling out and the extreme cold is going to stick around for at least another day. Could be worse, like 110* in the shade.

Come visit us around July 30 we'll thaw you out .:O

Lacy and Kuhn are carrying the mail. I think this one is going to come down to a big play, maybe a turnover or a huge offensive play. Niners D are gassed. Key on Kap and the good guys win!

Game/season over. SF kicks a FG with 3 seconds left to win 23/20.

But it's a dry snow, Tom.

Minus 25* with minus 47* wind chill here this AM. Looks like the high will be minus 15*. Dave and crew are laughing. They're probably minus 40* or lower.
