I have a savage 10 max 1 (accustock) 223 in great shape, shoot great, as good as 1/4 MOA with SMK's. I also would like a 9" twist 22-250. School budget wont allow both. Would like to work some sort of trade if there's interest and availability.

My Savage Predator Hunter Max 1 in .223 has a 1 in 9 twist barrel. Are you possibly thinking of changing to a 1 in 8 or 1 in 7 twist barrel - I know I am and leaning towards the 1 in 7 for the heavy bullets. Best of luck with your search.

Sorry - I mis-read the post. I think the 1 in 9 twist in a 22-250 should about as good as it gets for that caliber. Thinking about calling Savage to see what they would charge to build such a rifle.

Yeah savage shoot very well in my experience. Mine shoots great and the accutrigger is set at 1.5# I just wanted a new profile and the extra velocity on the long bullets. Savage varmint lp and others are available in 9" so I thought I'd see what's out there.

I have rechambered several 1-9" ROT Stevens 200 223 barrels to 22-250 for Savage 110 series and Marlin X guns. Shot 2 does down by Cedar Creek, NE, in November with a 22-250 Marlin XS7 that has a rechambered Stevens 200 223 barrel installed. These are the easiest to find and cheapest to buy 1-9" ROT .224" bore barrel that I've found for a Marlin X, Savage 110, or Steven 200 application. I'm getting MOA groups with the 60 grain Partitions at around 3,400 fps with H4895.

If I remember right Savage item number 18468 is a repeater with a 1 in 9 twist barrel and Savage item number 18148 is a single shot (probably right bolt/left port) with a 1 in 9 twist barrel. Best of luck with your search.
