Happy New Year, all! The other day I picked up a 110C series H
25-06 with a Balvar5 in B&L mounts. S/N is A593443. Could someone give me the date of manufacture? (Paid $262.62 for it. Passable price?)

Not really that old, it's an A series 110 made in 1970 but old enough I guess. I think you got a smoking deal, can't go wrong on a price like that.

if the condition is good, that's not a bad price, someone on here can tell you mfg date, some of the older savages had really hard trigger pulls. never had a savage that didn't shoot good.

great scope there, if you want a 30-06 barrel that fits that bolt let me know.

Thanks for the info, guys. Mad Dog, you're right about it not being that old (I was in my prime - which I am definitely NOT now - when the gun got boxed up), but it's strange how a gun I wouldn't have walked across the street to look then (pressed checkering)looks pretty damn good now, compared to the crap that's getting cranked out now. 325's and earlier 340's look good to me, too.
Derstalker, thanks, but I don't need a 30 caliber barrel for it; I've always had a hankering for a .25 Niedner and now I got one!
