Just picked up a Western Field 30-06 rifle model ejn-757. Nice Walnut stock with cut checkering, FN action, 30-06. The scope that came on the rifle was a 1" scope. It was steel, matte finished in a sort of dull black color. It was marked "Western Field" and 4X. Had the number 1471 and E. R. T. and had no other markings. It looks like an old Weaver. But the different part was that there was a male dovetail running the whole bottom length of the tube that held the rifle to the scope base. Any info on this scope and rifle would be appreciated. I LIKE it! I don't guess I've seen a scope with that dovetail down the belly, but if it'll take a zero and hold it, I'd never change a thing about that rifle. It is old school cool.

I was wrong it is an aluminum tube. I will leave it on if it works. The rifle was on consignment at a shop and I picked it up for $250. It has 8 small notches in the stock so I assume it worked well for someone. Dave

A steal at $250! I've never seen that rifle or scope before, thanks for sharing.

Very nice rifle.
It really annoys me when someone cuts notches into a walnut stock. Now if someone cuts notches into a synthetic stock it would not bother me at all.
