I've been known to swap stocks around on No. 1's. The first No.1 I bought was a 375 H&H which had very plain wood. When I bought it, there was a 45/70 next to it with decent wood. I bought both, swapped butt stocks and sold the 45/70 to a buddy. After a few years with the 375, I traded it for a 450/400 with very plain wood but swapped stocks on the two as part of the trade. I also have a 300 H&H that came with plain wood so I swapped out butt stocks with a 9.3x74. The brown pad No.1 below is the 450/400 and the other is the 9.3x74 (prior to swapping wood with the 300 H&H). I've since sold the 9.3 (with ugly 300 H&H wood) and replaced it with another 9.3 with nice wood. I think I truly must be nuts, but it all made sense at the time whistle

After all of this craziness, I found an older No. 1A 7x57 that I had to have:

And more recently, another 375 H&H with Boddington series wood:

6-pack,

Tried and it worked.
What caliber is your RSI?
Fine lookin' rifle.

I should be the proud new owner of a K1-A in .35 Whelen Monday.

I'll post a new spread when I get done with work. (I hate when work gets in the way of my hobby!!)

I just ordered a #1S Medium Sporter in a 45-70 which, should be delivered to my FFL in the next week or so. They are hard to find and I had to order it sight unseen and can only hope the wood will look half a good as some wood pictured in this thread.

Most of the rifles I've bought in the last few years have been for hunting and were stainless steel with composite stocks. I just couldn't order a single shot 45-70 in anything but American walnut and blued steel. It will not be scoped but, I haven't settled on what sights to get if the factory sights don't work for me. Can't wait to get it in and start working up hand loads using hard cast bullets.

If you insist.
I drove 650 miles on Monday, from -20 degrees to -13 degrees.
Well worth it. The K1-A (third from the right)followed me home.

Flip side of K1-A 7.62X39 far right, bought sight unseen! Proof that even a broken watch is correct twice every day, and that luck can be better than skill.
