Has anyone used them? Any feedback? A friend of mine want to put on a wood stock on a Rem 700 SS DM Mountian Rifle in a .260. Since it is a DM hard to find one. I found these guys and said that alittle bit of fitting and sanding theirs would work. Probably have someone that know stock work finish the inletting. He can do the finish staining work himself. Now with that said would he be better off biting the bullet and paying for a much more expensive stock. Or are these stock a decent stock to start with to finish? Thanks for any input.

Unless one purchases a drop in ready unit, look at about 40 hours to fit and finish a 95% complete unit. With good work though, one will have an extremely well fitting unit.

Anything that is drop in ready, has too much wood augered out, but that can be rectified with bedding.

I paid for some higher quality wood and am happy with this one. I had a couple months wait, as I think they wait to run a similar batch. Like said though, about 40 hrs to fit and finish.

They require ALOT of work. If you are handy then you will be fine. They are not drop in. If you want drop in expect to pay more.

Been trying yo talk the guy into a mcmillan. But he likes wood. Almost impossible it seems to find some under a grand for that gun. The black plastic stock sucks. Was looking for a takeoff.. But that's a dead end... He is handy with wood. But butch seems to hate them... Lol.... Well I'll let him decide.... Lol... Not my gun and I am certainly not doing the work.

I am not aware of Remington having ever made a stainless 700 DM in a Mountain Rifle format.

Remington did make a blued CM 700 DM MR with a nice walnut stock for awhile, so finding one of those stocks is an option. Also, any 700 BDL inletted stock can be modified to the DM format at much less cost and with much less effort than starting with a Richards Micro-Fit stock. Unless there isn't any other reasonable option, I would NEVER EVER go with a Richards Micro-Fit.

I have a 700 DM parts gun that I put together with a 700 stainless DM action, a 700 LSS-MR 22" barrel, and a 700 DM MR walnut stock. It was a pretty sweet rifle, even with the DM, but I loaned to the DCE at our church and he took it with him when he moved. I guess that he thought that it was a clergy loan, meaning that since he is clergy, the loan was a gift.

I like their stocks. They leave lots of excess wood on them for custom shaping and the inletting is pretty close for bedding purposes. Good selection of woods and styles. Reasonably priced. With good quality tools, know how, and skills, you can fit and finish one of them in something less than 40 hours, less checkering. I will admit that their customer service kinda sucks, as they don't seem to like to answer their phone. They have shipped me stocks in as little as 2 weeks and have taken as long as 9 weeks. It all depends on style and wood selection.

I've done three RMF semi inlets and won't touch another. On all three the inlet was oversize. And as was said above, their customer service sucks. All three people who brought them to me were stuck with what they had.

My experience with them it will take forever to get your stock and it will take a lot of work and glass bedding to get it to fit correctly. That being said some of there wood is very pretty

I haven't bought one from them is some time, but here's the last one I used for a Siamese Mauser. If you have all the right tools and a bit of patience you can make decent stock.



I specified a small inlet so I could hand fit the action and barrel then glass the action. They may cut a larger inlet to allow for glass bedding, so discuss it with them before ordering.
