Killed my buck with my 6.8 this year.

I shot a 115lb spike was shot with the 110gr sierra pro-hunter at a measured 170+ yds. The bullet shattered abouot 6" of the deer's brisket, wrecked the lungs, and was found under the skin of the opposite shoulder.

Seeing how many are killed a year with a 223... I think the 6.8 would also work fine.

I think anything would work with your shot placement.

Meat on the ground. Congrats.!

The 6.8 just bounces off the deer out here...30-378 WM is the min. suggested caliber.

Considering your shot placement, I don't believe caliber was much of a factor.....

You shot bambi. Guns almost longer than the deer. Shouldn't have needed anything bigger than a 22 long rifle on that beast.

It will knock a hog off his feet too! By chance my game cam caught this as the 6.8SPC did it's job on a 140lb pig.

a 22 kills them no problemo. Here is a 10Pt from Taliaferro County shot with a 62 grain TSX he ran about 25 yards. The image may offend some because its a cheap Colt with a chrome lined barrel and bad trigger.
