After hunting seasons are done I always switch to shooting steel and paper with cast boolits to save on costs. I've done this for a few years now with the .308 Win and .30-06. This year I added my .260 Remington Ruger M77 MkII to the mix. With an NEI 130-264-GC #25 and 15 gr. of 2400 I got the sub-MOA groups I was looking for at 100 yds, and 11 gr. of Unique yielded the same results. Both loads shoot to the same POI at 100 yds, but the chrono had trouble today with bright sun and snow on the ground, so I don't know how fast they're going. I'm guessing 1300 fps for the Unique and 1500 for the 2400, but I'll find out for certain on another day. I love shooting cast in my rifle - low recoil, low muzzle report, and the steel rings out past 200 yds. All for about $.08 per shot.

Its all about trigger time & producing what comes from the barrel. Both are enjoyable & the better you become at each the more enjoyable it is.
