Dang Ella, that's a shame about the camera. I would have enjoyed seeing pics of the mobile camp and cookin' them squirrels!

My son and one of his buddies came up today for a hunt. We hit it for 4 hrs. Nothing much moving. I dumbed in to this ole boy and got a free handed head shot on him, with the peep sighted 10/22. By that time my feet and hands were freezing, so we called a halt to the festivities. maddog

Good for you! We are into our last month of squirrel season, here in Indiana. Based on the 10 day weather outlook, it may be 2 wks. before I get to go again. I hope I can get out 2-3 more times, before the end of the month. Jan. is always a crap shoot for hunting, and my ole bones just don't tolerate the cold weather very well, anymore.

Well, here I set, coffee mug in hand, wishing I could go after some limb chickens. 15 below outside with a 30 mph NW wind. Good news is it may be almost 40 by Sat. GAWD, as I get older, I really hate this weather! Spent all of about 8 mins. scooping show off the back walk so that Dexter[aka butthead] or mini pins could go out and take a dump. I'd had enough out in the air, when I got done..... Did I say I really hate this weather?

Skwerls don't like it either. They'll be holed up too...

Yer right. Been setting around this pm., thinking about a nice tent, a campfire, in my favorite squirrel woods. Temps. about 55 degrees, drinkin me a beverage, and cookin' a squirrel, after having hunted all day, and shot me a limit.....now how's that for a fantasy? maddog

Finally, after 12 days, I got back out today. Didn't go til 11 am. The sun peeked out, and although it was windy, I grabbed the peep sighted 10/22 and headed out to get the stink blowed off me. There was still snow in the woods from that go around last weekend, but the temps were in the high 30s. Caught this booger out sunnin' on a limb. Hope I can get out 2-3 more times, before our season ends on the 31st. maddog

Looks like you're swapping between scope and open sights? Good fantasy.
Today's weather might have been worth hunting, but no public land hunting on Sundays. Next chance might be next weekend, unless I can sneak off early one afternoon.
I'd like to put up another bag or two in the freezer.

Got this one late this afternoon on my property. First one I've seen since the first week of December. Missed the first shot offhand, and it hid, but I found it with binoculars and put an RWS Subsonic through the boiler room.
