243Win;
That's interesting information indeed as I had no idea there'd be a Dangerous Goods surcharge that steep either.
The last time we ordered powder that needed to be shipped in it was from Higginson in Ontario and three of us got together and brought in 30lbs.
The driver gave me a very "funny" look when I signed for it at work.
It was even "funnier" when we decided to get another 30lbs a month later!
If memory serves it was maybe $30 for the Dangerous Goods charge then and it was so long ago we used Loomis.
Interestingly I've still got a wee bit of one of the Nobel powders from that batch, the rest being burned up long ago. Both of my shooting partners from that deal have now been gone several years as well so what became of their portion besides it going down range I can't say.
There were a few of us that did pull the trigger a fair bit back then and of course running various cases swallow 80gr plus a shot don't help powder last any longer either.
Anyway, I can only guess that it's not Cabela's who are making the most money on the shipping - hey, probably $100 is fuel surcharge these days.
Good luck on your powder purchases wherever they take place sir and all the best to you this weekend.
Regards,
Dwayne
