So thinking on the Sako First year Finnlight in 300 wsm of putting a brake on it. This is apparently the first year on a magnum action with the 21 or 22 inch barrel. Looking for a brake to make it more enjoyable to shoot though it may not be bad haven't even shot it yet just enjoy shooting my braked LR rifles so I am assuming it will be the same with this one. Anyone have any suggestions for a side/top vent brake tha twill match the contour of the barrel? I like the larger brakes but not on so Svelte a rifle. I am going to drop it into a EH3 Manners that I still need find someone to inlet and it will wear a Kahles CSX 1.5-6x42 scope and be my do all rifle.

I'd try it without a brake first. I have a Gray Wolf in 300WSM in a McMillan stock and the recoil isn't bad. Granted, the Finnlight is lighter but I don't like extra noise and blast from a brake.

A brake might not be able to be installed on your rifle due to the thickness of the barrel at the end. There might not be enough thickness to cut threads to attach brake to the rifle. Check with Karl at kampfledcustoms.com,he makes his own and they are GREAT.He matches the brake to the diameter of the barrel. You can even tell that it is not part of the barrel.Skeeter

I am trying to avoid the ones with holes all the way around. If I shoot prone or close to the ground I noticed with my 7 wsm I get grit in my teeth. I am thinking like the Holland but fitted better to my barrel. I will check with Karl thanks. I want to brake it so my kids can shoot it too. The 7 wsm they could shoot with ease but it also weighed 10 lbs.
