What type of powder would you recommend for inline .50 caliber muzzle loader shooting bullets surrounded by a sabot?

Blackhorn if the breech plug is compatible. There is no close second.

Blackhorn if your model can shoot it....What do you have?

It completely depends upon exactly which make, model and breechplug system you have. Triple-7, Pyrodex and Blackpowder work in everything but Blackhorn 209 will only work in certain guns. In those guns, it is arguably the best choice. In anything else, it is a problem.

Yes, depends if the gun can reliably shoot B209. It also depends on the State you are in, if you plan to hunt with it. Some State regs preclude the type of ignition needed with B209, no 209 primers or whatever.

Wife - TC Impact Mine - CVA Accura V2
We will be hunting in Tennessee. Only requirement is the rifle has to be loaded from the muzzle.

???? Im not sure what that is implying. BTW what is 3 FFG? The T/C Impact should handle BH209 just fine. i know quite a few people using BH209 in the Impact with no issues. The CVA should be fine with the optional BH209 plug from Western. Its preferred by most people i know over the CVA BH209 plug. The standard CVA QRBP is only marginal with BH209.

get another plug for the cva and go with bh209. 100gns of blackhorn ,295powerbelt and winchester 209 primers is all i shoot in my tc triumphs. friends are shooting the same in the cva's. bh is so much easier to clean than anything else.

Blackhorn if the breech plug is compatible. There is no close second. My CVA Optima can only shoot BH209 if I keep the charge at 90grs BV or higher and use a hot primer. A 120grs is max for a rifle rated for 150grns BP. It is the most accurate BPS I've shot, but my groups using White Hots and Pyrodex RS are not much bigger out to 100 yards. Average about a .25 inch difference. With Pyrodex I'm only able to get in two shots before having to swab the barrel. I've shot 15 WH's (ran out of bullets) without swabbing the barrel or lost of accuracy. YMMV HaYen

This sounds like a plan and we can use the same powder with both rifles. Thanks

Black Horn 209 , American Pioneer or Triple 7
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.
