I presume this is just a VX-1 with a fancy reticle. I thought about getting one for my 1895GS but I'm thinking a VX-2 would be better for the money. Any thoughts?

I think the dotz under the basic duplex crosshairs are shaped like little piggies...

sausage dot is zero at 100
pork chop line is 200
ham line is 300
bacon line is 400

Load based on a 22 centerfire, so it won't sell.

I could live without the words Pig plex written across the reticle. But its a great scope for what I use it for which is shooting jumped hogs. I can get the cross hairs on them pretty fast. I wouldn't want it for my only scope on my only rifle but I use it for specialized use on an A Bolt in 30-06.its my first lower power scope and frankly I'm starting to really think about shooting with lower power. The target doesn't jump around like on the higher power. With the 20mm objective paired with the 22 inch barrel its a great handling set up. I was worried about light transmission but it works real good right up until dark.

I have 3 of these scopes now and have one on a 30-06 handi-rifle and shoot 180 grain bullets at 2700 fps and the reticle works well with this load. The circle is dead on at 200 yards the bottom of the circle is the 300 yard holdpoint and the two hashes are for 400 and 500 yards respectively. I use this scope for deer hunting.

I like the fact that upon shouldering the rifle the circle x puts me on the target fast, the glass in the scope is better than my older Leupolds from what my eyesight tells me and you get that 4" Leupy eye relief. So for me you get better glass in a scope than the older Leupold VariX III's at a lower price and a reticle with holdpoints.

I just mounted one on my Sidekick muzzleloader but haven't yet sighted it in. I want to be able to use the holdpoints with the Sidekick as well but some trial and error will be necessary to do so. Still have one NIB to use yet.

Great little scope with adequate light transmission IMO.

Some of us have been trying to tell people that for a long time. Low power just flat works better for shooting at actual living and breathing things.

I also use the shotgun 1-4 w/ HD. Great value. Very easy to get on target quick. I usually leave it on 3x.
