Wanting to get back into bow hunting, anyone have any experience with the Bear Authority, compound bow. I am a lefty with 30+ draw length and shoulder issues, so 50lbs is going to be my max.

I'm sure it's a decent bow.

It shot pretty good but they did not have anything else in left hand for me to try.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a lousy bow in this day and age.

That said, I'd consider the used market for an upper tier bow for about the same coin.

Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Elite.

Used bows are a friggen bargain in comparison, especially when they're all set up.

Agreed - for a ~$400 bare new bow, you can probably find a left hand upper end in any of the brands listed in a used model for about the same money, especially now that the majority of the seasons have ended.

I'd look at the Mission line of bows in the same price-point, and the Ballistic would be my choice for about $40 more NIB.

My Dad is a lefty, I get the issue of finding gear to try before you buy, and the very narrow selection for leftys in most areas. If it's worth just the ability to be able to shot it first, the Bear should serve you well.

Mike - Have you seen this one?

I think several of us would argu that the Switchback line is some of the best of the Mathews line.

A 30" draw and a 31" Axle to Axle bow - I'd sure recommend at least trying something with longer A to A.
