Does anybody have an old Bishop catalog laying around? If so could you look up what a "B 1933" sporter stock fits? Saw one I could pick up cheap, thinking about getting it for practice before I get the one for my mauser(want to do a Bakote tip, but I've never done one before). From the pics I'm thinking maybe '93 Mauser inlet?

I've got several Bishop catalogs. I looked thru them and found no model number like B 1933. However, one of my good friends used to run Bishop for about 20 years. I've got a call in to him and will let you know what he has to say when he gets back to me.

Well, Tim, you aren't going to like the answer. Like I said, the catalogs show no model designation starting with a "B". I talked to my buddy and he didn't know of any either. The Bishop designations were mostly 2 characters. Such as W-2 was a Western Sporter; A-1 was an Alaskan stock, etc. Each of these models could be machine inletted for an infinite variety of bolt actions rifles.

So, bottom line, as far as I know Bishop did not have a B 1933 designation.
Sorry,
Phil

Well thanks for trying. I might buy it anyway...it's brand new and cheap enough...just want to try a practice run before I cut a stock I plan on using for the M98 I want to get built this summer.

Looked at your pictures and I can't tell exactly which Mauser it is for without having it in my hands. I can tell you that someone who didn't know what they were doing has been messing around with the inletting. I would avoid it unless you are just wanting the practice. it wouldn't be worth much.

Do a measure center to center for the recoil/tang holes and across the large/small ring portion. Folks might make a more informed guess with that info.
