I spent the day yesterday launching lead via MOA and MIL turrets and reticles. Both were fun smile

I wish you would attend the next long range campfire get together so you could show all those wannabes how it is done!

From what I read it was decided that all the long-range hunters use scopes. Nobody mentioned any MOA or mil iron sights, which seems prejudiced to me, but apparently haters gotta hate.

That's a good reason to pick up a Colt HBAR with A2 sights.

Thanks!

So in your opinion if one uses MILs he is a "wanna be sniper" but he he uses MOA he is a long range shooter, is that your position?

I just draw my reticle on the front glass of the scope with an engraver and color it with a Sharpie. Its my own scale directly between Mills and MOA. I was able to take last with it at several comps but it was not the fault of the scope.

Travis,

On the longest kill I've made with iron sights, a caribou at 350 yards, the bead on the pre-'64 Model 70's front sight "covered" the bull's chest. So guess I was using MOC (minute-of-caribou) rather than MOA or mils.

The cartridge was the .270 Winchester, but the bullet was a 150-grain Hornady Interlock, so I may be OK with Ingwe.
