Yes, especially in the shoulder area.

NOT!!! Piece of cake with the brake on it, unless you try to get up to 2,400 fps. Load it a bit hotter than a NE, about 2,050-2,150 fps, and you're fine. Go for it Gunner, that 600 OK is about 1/2 price!

One of those would definitely make your .505 Gibbs jealous. Wouldn't be room in the same safe for them both...

Yup, I'd load and hunt it without a brake, and 2400 fps was what I was talking about, would have to try a couple for S's&G's Hunt load would be the 900's around 2150, should be a helluva stoner on game.

Oh yes DF, there's room, specially when I sell that 505 to you.

Sitting here, pecking out this message left handed, my right arm in a sling from a major rotator cuff repair three weeks ago, I don't think that's in the stars for me. In fact, I traded the .404J I recently built and posted on the Fire for a 7x57. I sold my SP-10 to my hunting buddy.

I'm moving in the opposite direction from the Gibbs. My current "big" gun is a .375 H&H, which I should be able to handle in a year or so. Don't want to push my luck. Thinking about getting an Ithaca 28 ga. pump gun, already have a 28 ga Merkel O/U. So, you where I'm headed...

This 505 is a rechambered re-rifled Ruger RSM, excellent work was done by Clearwater Reboring up in WA. state.
