My normal go to powder for a 50g Nosler BT in this gun has been 37.5g of Varget with good accuracy.

However finding Varget on the shelves these days is almost impossible. So I've been looking for other powders that duplicate that performance, some choices are 4064, Benchmark and BL-C2. 4064 seems to pop up the most of these three. I've used a pound of BL-C2 before and it produced some good results but not tried Benchmark.

What will really decide the choice, though, is when I walk into the LGS and see what is on the shelf.

Of these three 4064, Benchmark, and BL-C2 what are your choices and what is your experience?

I admit, I can be vague at times.

I've had good luck with Benchmark, but no experience with the others yet.

I like H-4895, it's dandy with 55s, at least, and more than credible with those whifflebullet 40gr. bullets, too.

Redhill: Two of my several 22-250 calibered Varmint Rifles prefer (accuracy wise!) IMR 4064 powder when shooting 50 and 52 grain bullets!
Just in case your local gun shop has IMR 3031 powder and you are again looking for a great accuracy load - don't hesitate to try IMR 3031!
Best of luck to you in your new load testing (in case they don't have the Varget you prefer).
I had not tried Varget in any of my 22-250's until I bought a new in the box Remington XR-100 a few years ago.
This XR-100 shot so well with Varget that I have not tried any other powder in it to date.

My .22-250's shot about anything fairly well.. I used 4064 for years.. Very accurate.. My current powder is H4895.. A bit more accurate and faster for my rifles anyway.. As Varmint Guy pointed out 3031 isn't a bad choice either.. I have been shooting quite a bit of it in the .22-250 and Swift.. Due to the amt. of older powders I have on hand, never messed with many of the new numbers.. For me BLC2 was very dirty.. I used it in my .223 but never shot much in my .22-250's..

I've used all three with routine regularity... and none did a bad job.... but ya know me... RL 7, 30 grain charge is my standard used powder, with 50 to 55 grain bullets... and a heavier charge with 35 grain Lead Free and 40 grain bullets...

I've always shot 50 and 55gr bullets in that case and had really good accuracy/velocity in several different guns using W760. The only thing better - both accuracy and velocity - has been RL15.

Of the choices in the first post, I would also go with IMR-4064. I used H-414 for a long time, but have switched to Ramshot Big Game. I prefer 50 gr bullets, but will use 50-55 depending on availability.

Best speed with accuracy with the 55g is win 760 hands down.

next would be IMR 4064 and H4895

38 grains H-380, 50-55 grain pill is a standard go to load. If a 22.250 won't shoot that, it won't shoot period.

55 grain bullet over IMR3031. Shoots great in my Ruger77 and a couple other rifles it has been tried in.
