I think, Mr. Steve Timm has killed a truck load of elk with a 150 grain bullet out of a 30-06.

It's the hole in the middle that counts.


I think they were cup-core bullets too.

I'm not worried about the bullet, just the velocity.

Keep the shots at 250 yards and under I suppose. That's his comfort zone anyway.

I have seen enough moose taken with old 150gr core lokt from a 270 without any trouble and the accubond is a much better bullet. Im sure within reasonable shooting distance it will work just fine for elk.

I killed a cow elk this year with a 308 and 150 NBT. Shot was probably 175 yards. The bullet went through the on shoulder and I recovered it under the off-side hide. Cow went down within 30 yards.

I'd not worry about the 150 NAB at that range...
