Thanks Dave I never saw a jig quite like thar but can see where it would work. it ought to flutter real good on the drop. I envy you guys. It is a 3 hr drive to Erie to fish big water plus the wait at the airport to fly out to the island to fish Put In Bay, and we haven't had dependable ice for several years.

A coworker & I took snowmobiles on a northern adventure Sunday. We unloaded at took off towards ND's shack which is about 6 miles from the resort I think. From there we went another 19-20 miles across the lake until no other house could be seen.

A little slow in the morning but we filled out on walleyes and saugers. We also caught 5 perch over 12", one slightly under and a regular one. Back to the truck & loaded by 4:00pm.

We ended up with a dandy pail of fish & had a good time on an adventure to a place not many would wander to in the dead of winter. It was -20*F when we began our trip.

I really like it. Perfect machine for what I do. I'm still a little torn between two or four stroke but it has plenty of power.

I am usually happy with my purchases because they are well thought out. This one has really exceeded my expectations.

I'm working on an intake heater to make sure they will start at -20*F or even colder when not plugged in. I might look for a set of wider skis for the deep fluffy powder conditions. I believe there are some in the works.

I see. How are the ice roads up there for wheel houses now? Did they get them all cleaned out again?

Probably support me then. smile

Law enforcement is advising ice fisherman not to leave any equipment in their shacks when they leave the ice. Numerous break ins are occurring. Propane bottle are the number one target of the thieves.

Propane is going for as much as $7 per gallon in some locals.

I remember we used to need a 12"extension to get all the way through the ice,but I dont remember for sure how much ice there was,but the auger was right down to the handles before it got through, with the extension.

Ah yes. The auger extension.....

I never take mine off of my ice auger.

Also, we try not to mention extensions around ND. It's a bit of a sore subject for him and some of the other locals up here so shhhhh.

we're in a cold snap that might make enough ice for me to take the little man out this weekend and try to get some trout through the ice

Be careful White Bear! You don't want to get Dave going and get himself banned off his own thread!

Actually, it's just like the one in this link. Except more gray than black.

Hey thanks man! It's pretty much exactly like that only with charcoal gray exterior. 6 fishing holes in it. I might put one more in myself.

After seeing the inside, I can see why I saw a bunch of people camping in them on the North Shore when I took the little-guy up for some tent-camping.

That ain't your grand-daddy's fish house. No sir.
