Can't remember who I contacted about doing mine, but they said they have done them and no problems. Might have actually been the teflon ice coatings and not the cerakote. Anyway, lubricated, permanent coating just seems like a natural for a BAR. Wasn't too expensive if I remember correctly. I'd search for a few smiths who do it and ask for some references.
Sure seems like a great idea. I didn't do mine before I sold it.
