It is more disturbing than funny, how some people aren't appalled by their own thoughts is a mystery.

Put your mitt on.. go out about 3000 feet and let me shoot you with my 223... Yes I will hit you. NO your mitt will NOT stop the bullet....

Some folks get HUA syndrome badly.

The problem is where everyone puts the gas port. It works better in the pistol position no matter what anyone tells you. Also they are typically twisted to tight and the "tumbling effect" doesnt happen unless you glance off bone.
The 30 cal bullets are getting hard to get a hold of and arent cheap anymore....hence the 6.

Quarterbores forums is a good source of info.

How slow are you running what 6mm bullet?

I kinda figure my box of 500 .308 240 grain SMKs will probably last a lifetime. I doubt I'll find more than 400 or so pigs to shoot with my gun. But some folks do have more shooting chances than I will ever get.

Point is on specialty rounds, cost of bullets ain't an issue. Even at a buck a round cause I ai'nt gonna miss often typically or shoot many in a year.

Like folks getting riled up over the cost of a 50 cent barnes bullet or even 1 buck barnes bullet for their deer rifle... I get 5 tags plus some landowner stuff. I never shoot more than 10 rounds a year from the deer rifle, with deer bullets...

Suppressed subsonics in a bolt gun are very quiet. I'm using the 700 AAC and a SDN6 combo. Bullets striking gongs at 100 yards are louder than the muzzle report. I'm going to build a 9" AR as soon as the stamp comes back on my Colt SBR.

If I could ever figure out how to make money off a wildcat, I can think of a couple that could be worth the trouble to develop. But I know some smart guys who tried, and did not succeed frown

I like Rims on anything that does not FORCIBLY pressure it's case into intimate engagement with the chamber wall.

In this respect the .223 based round discussed's demand for obsessively uniform neck tensions supports my preferance.

A good 10 twist .32-20 WCF, slingin' good long and heavy CBs will DEFINE the "Subsonic Winner" in spades.

Rate of fire crazy .... a good '92 Winchester can be dialed in to make one hell of a lot less noise than an AR.

Out of a Miruko Low Wall, I can get equal and equivalent accuracy out of EITHER case,..... but will have a load "Worked Up" faster, using a rimmed case.

Dialing shortened / annealed / re-formed case (the .223) in and getting them all lined out is simply more WORK.

I have 3 currently and have shot a few "things" with 2 of them. I was pleased with them running suppressed until I got my 77/44 integral. After that I kinda lost interest. I will probably keep a Micro7 as a deer rifle for the kids and sell the rem700 and AAC AR.

Yes, a couple of domestic hogs with subs, a few rock chucks with supers.
I shoot the crap out of mine, several thousand rounds easy.
An AR-15 with a 16" carbine length gassed CMMG barrel.
I shoot it with subs and supers, both suppressed and loud.
It is a ton of fun to shoot, I think partly because it sips powder, low muzzle blast in loud mode, and an endless choice of bullets. (tracer are my favorite this time of year)
Accuracy is acceptable with everything I tried under 1 1/2 MOA @ 100 for 5. Some slip under 3/4MOA (125 BT's)
With subs and a can, it is very quite, and even with supers and a can, it is enjoyable with out ear protection.
Yes there are better rounds out there, but the fun factor ranks this one up near the top.

I have an Encore with a 300 Whisper barrel. It's fun to shoot and accurate within 100 yards. Very quiet with a can. I haven't shot any game with it. I would probably look at the outlaw bullets for that application. I have a integrally suppressed 44 mag rifle and I think that is a better platform for hunting. If you are going subsonic hunting, I think using a heavier bullet will yield better results.

It works. Of course I shot this coyote at about 30 yards and it dropped like a rock. It did not have the devastating impact of the 55gr 223, but it fell immediately.

Of course the concept of a military round that can go from subsonic suppressed to hi vel with a magazine change has some merit. I do not know if in "action" it will prove to be useful but it shoots coyotes just fine.

I've been shooting a 300 Whisper for about a decade. While it does have limitations it can work when used correctly. Killed this buck at 11 yards with a 240 smk

Killed this buck at 40 yds with a 247 NOE cast boolit

Have also killed a bunch of does and some coyotes with it.

BUT, I have also failed to recover some deer with it.

My simple rule of thumb, keep the shots inside 50 yards and hit them in the neck if you want them down quick. Double lung them if you don't mind tracking.

shhh. be vewy vewy quiet. i'm hunting deer. uhhh uhhh uhhhh.
