Since I don't have a TV I didn't realized 1) that Jay Leno was leaving and 2) that he'd been the host for 22 years. Time flies---especially when you're "playing the back nine".

My wife is crazy about Jimmy Fallon. Says he's hilarious. I'm waaaaaay old school and say that no one can touch Carson in this role.

I have watched Fallon a bit, he is defiantly a younger style of humor, not sure how his humor will play with the middle aged and older masses. Some nights Fallon can make you laugh, other nights roll your eyes and shake your head. Leno was pretty consistent. Don't mind Fallon, but that boy there just walked into a pressure cooker if the ratings drop.

Ratings won't drop. Fallon is different but at least as funny as Jay - and funnier a lot of the time. Even Conan is funnier than Letterman!

He's been on for 22 years? Makes me feel old as it don't seem like it's been that long.
Guess I'm old school, the Tonight Show was Johnny Carson, never should have kept the name and replaced him.

The show title is different, if only subtle.

Always thought he was a class act treating guests with sincere respect. Letterman can be a bit angry and rude with some, and that was a turnoff for me.
O'Brian simply could not keep a show moving. Five minutes of dialogue and then a minute or two of watching him do some cute little dance or make faces.
I was glad when they asked Leno to come back, and they gave him a 4 year notice on the pink slip this time around. That being, it wasn't like he was booted out on the spur of the moment.
With a little work, I think Fallon will be able to carry the show. He is younger, up on all the new stuff (twitter/tweets, facebook, etc; will appeal to a younger crowd, and will take shots at anyone in the world. It took 4 1/2 years for Letterman to lay one on the Big O.
While I greatly enjoyed Leno, I think it's time for him to head over the horizon as far as TV goes. He can still command millions doing standup, and I'd rather not see him competing for time on another network. Carson was great, and I respected him for simply clearing out at the end.
Good knows Leno has enough cars and collectable CD's/books with personal autographs to retire, sell down, and still live in a grand style. A great entertainer, and I wish him well.

Leno could probably do Vegas forever if he wanted.
And there will never be another Johnny.

I enjoyed Leno most of the time but Letterman is a bit to dry for my liking.

And there will never be another Johnny. Got that right.

I could be wrong but I think Steve Allen was first, but didn't last long.

Paar was the best. Period. Fallon is really good. I believe he'll be a real improvement over Leno.

Well I am a Leno Fan...I don't watch late night shows much, so I don't get overtired of the same old thing...
I hope Leno ends up going to Fox...fingers crossed.. I think I'd end up watching it more often...
I thought it was a very fitting last show...also liked it ending with Garth Brooks two songs... The Dance... and then after Leno's heartfelt good bye.... Garth ending with "I've Got Friends in Low Places"..
Seafire Jr didn't care to watch it, but I got him to do so, as I wanted to share the last show with him.. in the end he said he was pleasantly surprised.....
I have zero interest in Jimmy Fallon....watched a little of his show following Leno tonight...wasn't impressed...seafire Jr was laughing tho, guess it is a generational thing...
Best of Luck Jay, whatever comes your way...and thanks for all the good shows!
