In this corner we have Lucky Luke.......and in the other corner Mr. 43" 25lb Sturgeon. Weapon of choice from the WWF Champeeen, Da Ugly Stick with a Penn 320 reel strapped to its side. The lure....Stinky Squid...home made receipe. Let the games begin...... Pole doubles over and the Penn lets out a scream, The Champ pulls the pole from the holder (a little help from Dad here) and starts cranking. The challenger is PO'd and heads for deeper water while The Champ hangs on. With the look of determination the Champ cranks away but makes very little headway on the challenger. Both combatants tire but the challenger gives another burst and the Champ hangs on. The Champ is about to give up but the crowd cheers him on...."you can do it, pump the pole and rip his lips." The challenger will have none of it but also tires, soon the challenger sees the boat and bursts to the bottom and the fight is on again. The Champ has had enough and can't crank any more. The coach give's him a few last words of encouragement...."kick his ass, son. You've got him now"....and the champ gives it all he's got and the pole is doubled over but the beast is at the surface. It was one heck of a battle and I'll never forget it. The boy did it all on his own. We have a winner!!!! Lucky Luke!!!!! Wish I had the fish battle on film for you, it was good. Man, you'd think it was a fight of all fights. My little monkey was giving it all he had and I just watched the show. If he was going to quit it was going to be his own doing. He was close a couple times but he made me proud in the end. That little 43" made that Ugly Stick look like a noodle rod. Only thing lacking was an air show, despite that it was perfect.

The little man does have some guns on him. Must have been one heck of a fight. That is a sizable critter for a guy his age. I get worn out myself fighting a 25# redfish or the sort.
