I had a 99c shipped to me and when I received it the box looked a little abused but not terrible. When opening the box, which could of held 8 rifles, I discovered that the packaging was not good. The gun apparently bounced of the buttplate causing it to break into 3 pieces. Luckily this is the only damage that I could find, however now I'm in search of one of those plastic buttplates for a 99c. Where would be a good place to find 1 of these: What it used to be attached to: Thank you for any info.

Mike to the rescue again. What would we do without him? Thanks Mike for helping everyone out.

Yes to all of the above. Its great to have a sight full of guys willing to help out and share their knowledge, even to us posters that just lurk most of the time!! I know its just a ugly old 99c but I was sick when I saw what happened, luckily there is a place like this with people like all you for help. WOW!!
Thanks again lightfoot for the help

Fitted one to my Win model 12 most of the replacements are oversize and will need to be fitted also, heat in hot water before bending or it may break.

If you all come to the 2014 Savage Fest you can thank him in person and buy him a beer.

Rick, I'd love to come to the Fest. Unfortunately the first part of Sept. is a really busy time for me. Always have weening calves to start, ground to get ready for wheat sowing and fall harvest starting. Otherwise I would be there in a heartbeat and definitely would bring some beer. There might me a ammo shortage in Kansas but there's always plenty of beer.
